Math Lab utilizes the SRA Corrective Math program. This is a Direct Instruction program which requires attention, class participation, written and oral responses.

Other activities and games are utilized to enhance skills through additional practice.

Classes are organized by skill levels of:
Addition
Subtraction
Multiplication
Division

Students were placed in a skill level class according to his/her performance on a placement test. Students advance through the levels by demonstrating competency of each skill. Competencies include calculation and the ability to reason through word problems to select the correct operation needed to solve the problem. Each level includes periodic reviews of previous skills.

Each skill level has its own workbook which needs to stay at school. The only assigned homework will be from absences. This make-up work will be in the form of worksheets. Parents are encouraged to provide extra practice so the student may advance more quickly.

There are many free websites that offer various games and drill practice. Just Google.
